S3 is led by an experienced, hands-on leadership team committed to supporting our staff, our clients, and every guest experience.

Leadership

Mary Beth Gerlach

President & Managing Partner


Since co-founding Safety Service Systems, Inc. in 1996, Mary Beth has overseen company operations and guided S3’s growth into a trusted event staffing and security provider. Prior to launching S3, she worked in crowd management department for the Chicago Cubs, gaining hands-on experience that shaped the company’s service-first and common-sense approach.


With more than 40 years of experience, Mary Beth has led event staffing operations and client relationships for major sporting and entertainment events, including Chicago Bears games, Lollapalooza, the Maui Invitational, and many others. Under her leadership, S3 has become one of Chicago’s premier event staffing and security providers, built on a strong workforce and experienced management team. 

Monique McField

Human Resources Manager


Monique joined S3 in 2000 and leads all aspects of human resources, including recruiting, hiring, employee relations, and scheduling. With a deep understanding of the unique demands of event staffing, she plays a critical role in building and supporting a reliable, flexible workforce.


Monique excels at identifying and developing team members who thrive in fast-paced event environments, contributing to smooth operations, positive guest experiences, and long-term employee retention.

Anna Gerlach

Operations Manager


Anna joined the family business in 2012 as Event Staff, making S3 her first job. Over time, she advanced into supervisory and management roles while gaining hands-on experience at large-scale events. After earning her degree from Butler University and spending nearly seven years in higher education fundraising and alumni engagement, she accepted a full-time position at S3 as Operations Manager.


In her current role, Anna oversees day-to-day operations including payroll and billing, leads marketing initiatives, and regularly manages S3 events on-site maintaining close connections to both staff and clients.

Bill Jusack

Event Manager


Bill began his career in event security in 1990 and joined S3 part-time when the company was founded. With decades of experience, he has managed deployment areas and operations for large-scale events including Lollapalooza, Chicago Bears games, United Center concerts, Sueños Music Festival, the NASCAR Chicago Street Race and countless more.


Bill became a full-time employee in 2017 and continues to oversee event operations and manage staff, bringing extensive operational knowledge and leadership to complex event environments.

Jessica Estrada

Event Manager


Jessica joined S3 as Event Staff in 2016 and became a full-time employee in 2017. While she supports daily administrative operations, her primary focus is event management and on-site support.


Jessica has overseen staffing and operations for a wide range of events, including Chicago Bears games, Lollapalooza, Sueños Music Festival, Christkindlmarket, and Chicago Cubs and White Sox games. Her experience across diverse event types helps ensure consistent service and smooth event operations.
